The American College of OB/GYN (ACOG) recommends girls establish gynecological care between the ages of 13 to 15. Although routine pelvic exams and pap smears are not performed before age 21, by establishing care early patients have the opportunity to discuss their female reproductive health.
The patient may decide whether or not a parent needs to be present for the visit. Patients are encouraged to openly discuss any concerns regarding their physical and psychological health, menstrual periods and sexual activity. Our goal is to provide an environment where our female patients feel safe and comfortable at every age.
